Gmail Labs - Mail Goggles and more

A slightly quirky idea in Gmail labs, but I know it would of helped me in the past... Mail Goggles sets times that it will give you a maths quiz to confirm you're sure you want to send the email. E.g. late nights/weekends when you may be a little worse for wear and think it's a good idea to email the ex telling her of your undying love.  Fairly useless, but I like the thinking behind some of these widgets.

Another, which I've always thought should be standard in every email client, is that if you mention "attached" or "attachment" in your email it should check that you have attached something. Very handy.

To get to Gmail labs go to "Settings" then the "Labs" tab in your Gmail account.

Since the fairly recent update to the "new" gmail I've been experiencing constant freezing in Firefox. Which would could only be cured by killing firefox and opening it again.

It seemed hard to get a definitive answer after searching around. New Gmail warns if you have the firebug extension running that there's known issues, but I disabled that and still it would crash with annoying regularity. After some playing I found the root of the problem (in my case) was the Firefox extension "HTML Validator". Now it's disabled Newer-Updated-Gmail-2.0 works fine (and rapid). Actually, firefox seems a whole lot more rapid in general. So I'll only be enabling "HTML Validator" when I really need it.

Such a relief to find a resolution to the crashing, should help my blood pressure and my tourettes-like outbursts which were happening frequently during the day :)
